Thursday Thoughts

                                                                 

~ Well it is Thursday again and Amelia and I had nice walk this morning.  We walked down to the post office to mail a swap and looked at the stuff out for crazy days.  I didn't really need anything but downtown is where the Post Office is so of course we had to look!  She was pretty excited for our walk but did end up taking a little snooze on the way home.  Total we went 2.56 miles, not the longest but its something!

~ Yesterday my poor little girl fell on the driveway and gave herself a pretty good owie.  I figured it was only a matter of time before it happened since she must run everywhere now.  We iced it a bit and it looks a little better today, doesn't seem to be bothering her anymore.

~ Amelia has discovered that Pixie (our dog) will eat food if she throws it off her highchair.  Apparently it is quite fun, here's hoping all her food doesn't end up on the floor now.

~ I signed up for Swagbucks a couple weeks ago and I am already up to $20!  It will be up to $30 as soon as my points for another activity come through.  I can't decide if I want to get an Amazon or a Sephora gift card… Amazon I could get something practical but Sephora I could get fun new makeup.  #makeuphoader  If you sign up for Swagbucks through my link and need some help just shoot me an email.  I was confused at first but now it is quite easy and takes hardly any time!

~ I am obsessed with my new almond butter!  At Art in the Park I bought some homemade almond butter that contains chia seeds, cinnamon, and dried blueberries and it is ah-ma-zing!  I am wishing I had bought the bigger container or that I had a food processor that could handle almonds (I broke a food processor trying to make almond butter in the past).

~ I am planning some new posts that I am rather excited about.  Right now I have quite a few linkups and reviews.  I don't want to loose those I just want to add some other posts.  We will see how it goes!   Now to find the time to get them done.

~ I have been working hard this week at growing my social media following, so please if you like reading my blog click on the Facebook link on the right of my blog.  Also I set up Twitter, but no button yet so you can follow me here.

      Thursday thoughts are a little random today!  I had better get going because it is bath time for my little one!  What are you up to this week?

                                                 

Thursday Thoughts

Amelia is finally napping so it is time to link up with Jennifer from Ramblings of a Suburban Mom for Thursday Thoughts!  Which incidentally also means it is almost the weekend ;).

~ Remember when I said this year I was going to keep all of my flowers alive?  Well the left side of my house pretty much killed them (it couldn't be that I forget to water sometimes). However the right side of my house is overflowing the window boxes!  Hard to believe the difference.  The left side is full sun all day and the right side gets a lot more shade.  I am toying with the idea of not even planting flowers on the left side anymore, they never last :(.

~ This morning we went on a walk with one of my friends and her dog.  Amelia loves being outside  so it is a win for everyone.  We did 3.7 miles but it was HOT!  The top right picture is when Grizz walked to the grass and just plopped down on the way home.  Apparently even he was done!

~ I was so pumped to FINALLY get to pick up my wedding ring!!  Long story but I have had to have the jeweler send it in four times now (each time takes between 2-10 weeks).   They finally put the right mounting back on it and it looks like it should (see photo on right with the cute little elephant). Now fast forward to this morning, only half a day since I have had it back, and one of the spots they soldered the jacket to the wedding ring has broken apart (see photo on the left).  I think they had to take it apart to fix the mounting and it must not have been put back very well.  I would like to note that I don't shower or sleep with it on and am very gentle with it.  Ugh, I am so frustrated with this right now.... It is a 1 1/2 hour drive for me to take it in so it's not a quick trip and I just want to wear my ring already!

 ~ My trip out of town to pick up my ring was not wasted!  I hit up the target toy clearance (not pictured since it includes gifts and I don't want to spoil anything), new towels at BBB, plenty of new clothes for Miss Amelia (so many awesome deals), and of course a treat for me!  I am so excited to try out my new Too Faced items, if it's good enough for the best beauty bloggers it is good enough for me ;). Seriously though, I have been wanting to try these so hopefully they live up to all the hype!

~ Soooo remember the little kid rocking chair I bought way back Memorial Day weekend?  I have been looking for some fabric to recover the seat and I finally decided on this!  I like the mustard yellow and hopefully it will look cute when I am done.

~ This Saturday a friend and I are going to Art in the Park!  It is about an hour away, but it is so much fun!  There are so many artists and so much to see, i don't know that I "need" anything but you never know.

Thursday Thoughts

Once again it is time to link up with Jen from Ramblings of a Suburban Mom for Thursday Thoughts.

~ Wow, tomorrow is the 4th of July already!  Summer is flying by way too fast.  I am hoping Amelia is in a good enough mood to stay up and see fireworks.  I love the firework displays on the 4th, except for all the bugs.  I guess it will be a good test for my new bug spray.

~ Matt has been talking about getting Amelia a bed once we switch her over to what is now my craft room.  I may have underestimated how much beds are going for, but I found this super cute sleigh bed for a reasonable price.  I am leaning towards this one but we have some time to look yet.

~ This Saturday is time to go to the flea market again!  I love snooping around the flea markets plus there are a couple things I want.  I need a set of kid's plates from the Tupperware lady for sure!  Of course I am usually able to find a few things I didn't know I needed as well.

~ Still trying to get a date set up for my dad to take us to the zoo.  I know he is trying to find a day that works for my nephews too, so it can be tough.  I am super excited ever since I found out you can feed the giraffes.

~ I think I might take Amelia to the Children's museum.  She might be a little young but I think there are probably plenty of activities she would like.  She does really enjoy running around so if nothing else I am sure she could do plenty of that!

~ I am waiting on my Julep boxes and I may have a giveaway coming up!  It looks like many people have gotten theirs but mine shipped late so hopefully next week?  Keep an eye out for the giveaway!

      Well I am off to make banana bread since I let the bananas get overripe.  Do you have big plans for the holiday?  Happy 4th of July!

Thursday Thoughts

I am linking up with Jennifer from Ramblings of a Suburban Mom again for Thursday Thoughts!

~ I am having an awesome week!  My Fabletics meet up was a success.  It was a lot of fun to bring some friends together at the park to learn a little about Fabletics.  Since most of my friends are moms it can be hard to get everyone together, especially during the summer!  Afterwards a couple of us went on a walk, it was such a beautiful day.

~ Today was the third consecutive day that my new walking partner and I have gone out.  We did 5.49 miles today and feeling great!  I am so happy my friend wants to walk with me because it is just what I need to keep me on track!  Miss Amelia gets a little antsy on these longer walks but she is just in heaven when she gets to pick up rocks on the gravel afterwards.  Her biggest problem is she can't fit enough rocks in her hands :). 

~ My baby girl loves going out to eat!  We went to lunch after our walk yesterday and she got her favorite, macaroni and cheese!  She is so funny to watch because she has to eat as fast as possible when it's that good. A little messy but it makes her so happy. Oh, and yes I forgot her bib, oopsies.

~ I am setting up a Twitter account, yep, I feel like everyone else has one so I better see what it's all about.  If you would like to follow me I am @Small_Town_Mama, I could use some Twitter friends!

~ I got my #surfsupvoxbox yesteday!  It has been awhile since I have been selected for a box box, so I was pretty excited.  In case you don't know, Influesnter sends out Vox Boxes, which are free boxes of products to members.  These boxes are sent out to sample products and then complete challenges (posting on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc). If you would like an invite just send me your email!  I think I have five invites right now.

Thursday Thoughts

    Time for Thursday Thoughts with Jen from Ramblings of a Suburban Mom!

~ Well I am sick of rain, flooding, thunderstorms, and tornado warnings for a while.  The weather obviously does not like us this year.  Thankfully there hasn't been any damage or anyone hurt!  Last night I could barely sleep though with the storms and tornado warnings. Bad weather makes me really nervous :(

~ Amelia is doing awesome at daycare now!  She had troubles right away but I think she is really starting to enjoy it.  She no longer cries at all when I drop her off, which makes me feel much better too.  I am hoping she will jump right back in after our provider's maternity leave and we don't have to start over.  It is good for her to get to play with other kids and get out of the house one day a week (plus it gives me a day to get stuff done!).

~ I took my free day yesterday and started cleaning out my craft room.  I have been avoiding this task for awhile but I want to make it a play room for Amelia.  I actually made it through way more than I thought, just proves the hardest part is starting.  I am having troubles deciding what to keep and what to get rid of though.  As a bonus, I did find some gift cards and cash!  On a similar sad note I also found a couple checks that were missed from our wedding.  I just hope they still got a thank you!  I don't know how some cards were missed from our wedding but at least I decided to go through them (and that's how things end up taking forever). We really got some beautiful cards for our wedding!  I also found little notecards that people had written marriage advice on (love seeing sweet things like that!). It had been awhile since I had looked at those,I will have to find them a safe place.  I am still far from done, but it feels good to have made some progress.

~ I received my order for 10 Sample Society boxes today!!!  They were selling past boxes in bundles of 5 for $25 and code bbtwitter saves $15 on $50, making it only $35!  They are sold out right now but I will update if they come back in stock.  (Found at beautybar.com and my referral code is H.AN5288). I will be doing a review and a giveaway, so check back!

~ I am excited, tomorrow the Julep window opens!  This will be my first month and they are releasing a new body lotion.  I also saw a sneak peek of the colors and the teal is so pretty! I have just recently gotten into my nails so it is time to build up my collection :)

~ I need to get back on my walking routine!  I was doing so well and then this weather got to me.  No excuses though I need to start again.  I am also seriously debating buying PIYO.  It launched today and looks like a fun workout!

Thursday Thoughts

It is Thursday, which means it is time to link up for Thursday Thoughts!

~ So everyone with all the posts on Facebook about Cripsery Crispy Cakes I decided to make my own.  I took. Rice crispy treat recipe and changed it up a little.  I doubled the marshmallows and put it lots of butter and they turned out pretty darn tasty!  I know they aren't exactly the same as crispy cakes but they have really helped my craving for one!

~ Miss Amelia has been teething again.  She didn't feel well for a few days and then I felt two more teeth which puts her up to four teeth!  On the plus side I have gotten lots of extra snuggles!

~ We still haven't made it to the pool :(. Between Amelia not feeling well last week and the weather being rainy and chilly now this week it just hasn't happened yet.  Today and tomorrow are looking rainy so we have been taking turns reading books to each other.  Hopefully the rain clear up long enough for a couple walks at least!

~ I have a few great boxes coming soon!  The Hemp Box has released their launch box, I also have Fabletics, Ellie, and Julep (Petit Vour ships soon too I believe).  Three of these are completely new for me (and Hemp Box is brand new) so I am pretty excited to get my hands on them!

~ Has anyone tried these Yes to Carrots wipes?  I have heard people raving about them so I decided to give them a go and wow... My face was instantly burning and red, not good at all!  Even after I splashed water on my face it felt like it was on fire.  Never again.  This is why I use Norwex wash clothes with water to clean my face!

Anyways that what's going on over here!  What are you up to?

Thursday Thoughts

It is time to link up with Jennifer from Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.  I know I missed the last one (or two maybe?) but now that I am not working I am not always as aware of what day it is.  Sometimes Thursday slip by me, oops.

~ Omg I am so loving this beautiful weather we have been having!!!  Seriously 70-79 degrees all this week which is my perfect weather and I have been getting outside and savoring it.  Miss Amelia is also loving the weather because she loves going on walks.  I caught her trying to climb into her doll stroller the other night so she must really really love them ;). She does not however like the grass, or sand, or swings...  We will have to work on that!

~ I almost have my flowers all planted, I just have to swing by the nursery and get a few more to finish out a couple pots.  Feels good to have them (almost) done and this year I am really going to try to keep them alive and thriving (other years this has not gone so well).  On top of that my crab tree is blooming and it's gorgeous!

~ So I started my Herbalife this week and while I haven't followed their diet to a T, I feel awesome (as you could probably already tell, I am in a great mood!).  I have more energy and I don't feel so sluggish or bloated, plus it tastes good!  The only thing is since I am drinking shakes for lunch and breakfast, drinking tea, and drinking water I have to pee a lot.  It kind of reminds me of being pregnant without all the aches and pains or swelling, lol.  I have also been getting in lots of long walks and some core workouts!

~ It was our wedding anniversary yesterday!  We have been married three years and together for five, time goes so fast!  I am so happy to have found such an amazing husband and father and can't wait to see what this next year brings!  We are planning to go to SF and go to supper (and shop a little of course). Looks like we will probably go next week though since this week is pretty full.

~ On Saturday I think I am heading to the flea markets!  I love going to them and hopefully the weather cooperates, in July they can get awfully hot so I am looking forward to this one.  Not sure what I am looking for yet but you never know what you might find!

~ Miss Amelia and I have a lunch date with one of my best friends today, which will be nice.  Miss Amelia LOVES going out to eat, she is a social butterfly when she wants to be ;). Then I think we must stop at the nursery and grocery store.  Hopefully her good mood will last that long, with little ones you never know how much time you will get.

   Well that's it for this Thursday, what are you up to?  Any big plans for the holiday weekend?
