Orange Glad Review March 2014

Coming home to find my  Orange Glad box in the mail is always a welcome surprise!  I didn't receive shipping notice but their shipping is pretty consistent so I knew to expect it between Wednesday and Saturday this week (luckily for me it came on Wed!).  Since they ship perishable items they always use three day priority.  For those that do not know Orange Glad is a subscription box that's sends a box of gourmet desserts from trending shops each month.  Seriously who wouldn't want a box of goodies each month?

My first impressions on this box were great.  It was heavy and stuffed to the top so of course I was excited to dig in!

I like their information cards, they have a description of each dessert and on the other side they list ingredients.  Another nice piece of information is how long these desserts are good for.  Not that I ever wait longer than a couple days to get into them ;)

Donsuemor French Almond Cakes - The information card said to enjoy these right away, and who am I to argue?  So these were the first to be opened (I did manage to snap a picture first).  I love almonds and I love cakes so I was excited to give these a try.  I thought these were good though I would like if they used a little less almond extract.  I thought the extract flavor was a touch strong, however the cakes were moist and had a great texture.

Italian Jelly Filled Cookies from Cookies con Amore -   I will admit I wasn't sure about these.  They are super cute but I have never had a jelly filled cookie.  When I tried them I was a little surprised by just how tasty they were.  I would definitely get these again!

Hazelnut Orange Meringue Kisses from Olamola Confectionery - I am not a fan of these.  I gave them a try even though I do not like the combination of orange and chocolate.  I gave them to a friend and she thought they were great, so they did not go to waste.

C Squared Popcorn by Cornology -  This is a mix of cheddar and caramel popcorn, which is kind of an odd combination.  I gave it a try like the card said but I thought the caramel overpowered the cheddar.  It wasn't bad but I wouldn't buy them mixed again as I prefer them separate.

Blueberry Swirl Cake from Posh Pantry - This cake looked delicious and I think it accounted for the weight of the box as it was pretty dense! This was moist, soft, and had just enough icing on top. I think it is a tie between this cake and the jelly filled cookies for my favorite from this box!

Once again Orange Glad did not disappoint!  Usually I do a cost breakdown but since some of these desserts I couldn't find online I didn't do one for this box.  While this box isn't a high value box, it is a fantastic way to try these amazing desserts you might not have found otherwise.  Boxes start at $15 a month plus shipping and go down with a longer subscription.  I have quite the sweet tooth so I really enjoy this box!  Always fun to see what they will send out next.

Disclosure- I received this complimentary box for reviewing purposes.  I received no monetary compensation and all opinions are 100% my own.
