My goodies came packaged in a pretty pink box. Everything was tucked nicely inside green and pink tissue paper with their sticker holding it closed. I always appreciate nice presentation because it really adds to the feeling of receiving a little gift in the mail.
There were two information cards inside. The first was a card welcoming you to your monthly box of Untoxicating Beauty. It also included their mission statement and commitment to their products on the other side.
The second information card was all about the featured brand's founder, Debbie Leavitt of Sheswai Lacquer. In their January box they had sent three products from Om Aroma and Co. so it seems they are introducing you to one brand a month. I have been trying to guess what I thought would be inside this month and I was way off (I was guessing makeup since skincare was last month)! That's one of the reasons subscription boxes are so fun, you never know what to expect!
As you can see February's box included three FULL size nail polishes from Sheswai Lacquer. I have never seen this brand before and right off the bat, I loved the packaging. These polishes are 5 free meaning no toluene, no formaldehyde, and no DBP's. Basically as toxin free as nail polish gets ;). They are also cruelty free and made in the U.S.A. The caps are made out of sustainably harvested wood to reduce the use of plastic (and they are super cute). I also am a big supporter of companies that give back, which Sheswai does! They give a portion of their profits to organizations helping to sustain our planet, and the caps are made by Willing Workers, which is a non profit that provides jobs to adults with developmental disabilities. Ok, wow, that was a lot of information! Now let's take a closer look at these polishes...
Perfecto ($16) - This is my favorite color in the box (I know I am weird and this is almost not even a color). I love a simple natural looking nail and this is it. It is a soft, sheer polish that looks so pretty. In the picture my pinkie nail only has one coat while the other two fingers have two coats. I think I prefer the one coat because it is a little more sheer. I will definitely be using this polish all the time :)
So Cute ($16) - This is a great coral color. I have been thinking about getting a coral and a mint color for spring so this is great. I only used one coat of polish for this picture. I couldn't believe how awesome my nails looked with only one coat (for a busy momma this is a huge plus). Also the polish was so shiny it doesn't really need a topcoat (another plus in my book).
What ($16) - When I saw this color I was skeptical. It looked purple when I picked it up but I am happy to report it is more a a deep eggplant (purple family but not bright at all). Again I only used one coat and I am very impressed with the coverage! I think this will be a great color for the fall.
While I was surprised to see this month was nail polish I am so happy with them! After trying them out they are definitely going to be my go-to brand. All in all I am very pleased with the colors I received. I don't know if there were variations in the colors sent out but I am happy I got these three. In case you are more of a bright color person Sheswai also has some brighter polishes. I have my eye on a few more colors from Sheswai and would definitely recommend this brand to a friend (or include it in gifts). All totaled up this box has a retail value of $45. Untoxicating Beauty starts at $35 for a month to month subscription and as low as $25 with a year subscription. They also just started a Fresh Face Club where you can earn points by shopping in their online shop (members get a discount code for the shop) and referring friends! If you are interested in giving Untoxicating Beauty a try you can save $10 off your first box by clicking here! I am so happy with my first box and cannot wait to see what next month brings!
