Week 22/52 Amelia's First Birthday

Well on Sunday my baby girl turned one!!!  I cannot believe a whole year has gone by since having my daughter.  She has grown so much and she is now officially a toddler not a baby (although she will always be my baby).  May 4, 2013 I gave birth to Amelia and became a mother, the biggest and best role of my life.  I am so thankful that god blessed us with such an amazing little girl and I hope I can be the mom she deserves.  It has been such a great year watching her learn and grow and I still can't believe how lucky I am to have her!

Moving on to the pictures, I was so busy at the party I didn't get much of a chance to take photos but here is what I have.

The birthday girl was pretty certain she did not want to wear her headband.

I made a birthday banner out of burlap triangles, made a few tissue puffs, and decorated a cake table for her party.

Here is the cake table.  I found a frame that I painted and put brackets on the back to "frame" the cake.  I also found these cute hat boxes to put the cake on.  The best part is I am thinking the letters and the frame are going to be great photo props for her pictures (I am planning on trying to get some really cute one year pictures with her in her birthday dress).

Miss Amelia started sampling her cake using one finger.

She soon figured out that to eat something so tasty it is best to just dive in :).

It was a fantastic day filled with friends and family who came to celebrate Amelia's birthday with us. It is so great to see all the love and support she has in her life!  Since I didn't get many photos of the birthday girl I am going to try and get a photo shoot in this week or next.  I may do a cake smash shoot and/or hopefully an outdoor shoot in her birthday dress.  I just hope at some point the weather cooperates!

  1. Wow! I have got to say that your party turned out so well! I love how you "framed" the cake. I may have to "borrow" that idea for my Dad's 80th birthday at the end of this year. :)

    1. Thanks! I was pretty happy with my idea for the frame, I might just have to put that on Pinterest ;). Plus it should make a cute photo prop now afterwards!
