She doesn't go from belly to sitting yet and sometimes tips over from sitting yet :) she is a lot of fun to photograph but not always cooperative!

I started shooting in manual but ended up switching no no flash mode cause they just weren't turning out very well.

I only have elements because it was way cheaper and I am just taking pictures of my family. I am guessing I would have to adjust that in expert mode, I have mostly been using guided mode. I will check into that though. I do not know how to spot lighten but maybe I will try to find a tutorial on it.

Thank you so much your comments have been really helpful :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04080197155266782882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3692346751260234225.post-87228602116416278412013-11-03T07:55:07.566-08:002013-11-03T07:55:07.566-08:00How old is she? Mine is 8 months... she scoots all over the house (think Army low crawl), goes from belly to sitting on her own, pulls up to standing on things, etc. I don't think she's ever going to do a standard crawl! Aren't they FUN to photograph!?!

A few questions: Are you shooting in manual? If not, what setting are you shooting in (auto, AV, TV, portrait, etc)? Do you have Adobe photoshop? Or just elements? Only asking b/c I could help you around photoshop easily - I've been using it for years. But I don't use elements, so it's a bit foreign to me.

Things I love: Your subject matter, your perspective/angle, your overall lighting effect.

Suggestions: On the b/w, use levels and curves to bump up your contrast (more black and white, less gray). This pic is a TAD underexposed, so I would lighten it up. I like it better in color, as the tones are too similar for b/w (IMHO). The shadows are lovely, though. If you spot lighten, don't lose too much of those :)

Hit me up if you want to chat about it!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15529659205876270041noreply@blogger.com
